The Elderton Presbyterian Church is committed to advancing the Mission of Christ’s Church and proclaiming the Gospel throughout the world. Our congregation supports a number of missions locally, nationally, and internationally. We intentionally support Presbyterian related missions, but also seek out the opportunity to become involved in ecumenical ministries. Projects and proposals are submitted to our mission committee who reviews and recommends them to the session for approval and inclusion. The following is a list of missions and projects supported by the church in the 2017 calendar year. Included is a brief description of their mission. Please keep these vital ministries in your prayers.

Westminster Highlands is located in Emlenton, Pa., and Camp Lambec in Erie, Pa. Both camps offer family camp programming, retreat opportunities, and extensive summer camping for children. Our contributions are used for capital improvements at the camps, as determined by the Camp Board of Directors. Additional funding for scholarship aid for individual campers is also provided by the church from its operating budget.

Presbyterian Media Mission

For over 20 years, Presbyterian Media Mission has been developing media programming for the Churches and Presbyteries of Western Pennsylvania, the Synod of the Trinity, as well as the national church and the nine Presbyterian seminaries. In addition to preparing video presentations for development and evangelism at all levels of the church, PMM produces a weekly radio show Passages, which is an audio devotional similar to Guideposts or the Upper Room. This radio show is carried by over 500 stations nationwide, and proclaims the Gospel message of grace and hope through our Presbyterian witness. PMM also assists churches in using technology in their ministry and developing web based programming. They also have produced several advertising campaigns, such as “Come in Out of the Cold” and “Homers for Hunger”. They are currently working on a powerful project featuring Fred Rogers. They have won several Dove Awards, for excellence in Christian Broadcasting. Their offices are housed in the Pittsburgh Presbytery Office, and they minimize expenses and optimize stewardship. Contributions support a modest staff, technological equipment and underwrite programs so that small membership churches can benefit from their ministry.
